Traditional Services

St John's has two services, Morning Prayer at 9am in the chapel and Holy Communion at 9.30am. The earlier service is intimate and caters for those who value traditional liturgies. The later service is well attended by people across the spectrum of society. After church there is a chance to meet each other over a cuppa and morning tea.

Sunday School

Yes, there are young families in the inner city! We have a children's space in the church and our Sunday School meets in the hall at 9.30am. The children are an important part of our community. Scripture in Schools is offered at two local schools.

Community Church

Community Church meets at 6pm in the hall. Our worship is marked by informality and congregational participation which aims to be relevant to young adults living in the inner city. For some this is their first experience of church; for others St John's is a place where one can find acceptance regardless of where one has come from. After church many of us fill the surrounding cafes to extend our friendships or go to Rough Edges for a coffee.

More information, including sermon topics, can be found here.
